Cold atoms

Since 1997, our group has a number of magneto-optical traps for atoms. We deal with novel ways to diagnose cold atoms based on nonlinear spectroscopy. Using the method of pump-sample simultaneously record the spectrum of absorption and four wave mixing. Analysis of these spectra allows to investigate the properties of cold atoms are incorporated in August in a trap.
The Group participates in the activities of the National Laboratory for Atomic, Molecular and Optical (FAMO) in Torun. We prepare the equipment and the first experiments with Bose condensation - Einstein rubidium 87Rb atoms.
Moreover, the experience begins with an optical dipole trap (with the CO2 laser) and highly excited atoms in a cold trap. The aim of these experiments is to study the optical networking and cold atoms.
