Electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) is an optical coherence phenomenon, which can be exploited in a very precisely magnetometers. During the seminar a previous experiment will be described, where EIT was used to probe the narrow electron-spin resonance of nitrogen-vacancy centers in diamond at low temperature (6-30 K). Afterwards, the key benefits of implementing the same procedure at room temperature will be presented. The aim of experiment that is conducted in Helmholtz Institute Mainz is to build a very small and sensitive EIT-based sensor for a detection of magnetic fields.
