Recently Optically Pumped Magnetometers (OPMs) are widely used in searches for physics beyond the Standard Model. The choice of the optimal OPM for a given fundamental physics experiment is quite challenging due to the wide variety of currently developed OPMs. I would like to present a comparison of the Spin-Exchange-Relaxation-Free magnetometer with the alkali-metal-noble-gas co-magnetometer in the context of the sensitivity to time-dependent nonmagnetic spin couplings. This research is motivated by plans for the upgrade of the Global Network of Optical Magnetometers for Exotic Physics searches (GNOME) with the co-magnetometers. For the comparison of the magnetometers, we developed numerical models, which are based on the Stochastic Differential Equations. Those models were applied to simulate responses of both magnetometers in presence of the Gaussian magnetic noise. At the seminar, I will discuss results for the sensitivities to oscillating harmonic signals and to transient pulses. I will also present a method for distinguishing between the magnetic and nonmagnetic transients with a single co-magnetometer.
