Spectroscopic monitoring of the atmosphere
Monitoring and mapping atmospheric composition is becoming increasingly important. Not only is the Earth's radiative balance affected by long-lived greenhouse gases, but it is also estimated that poor air quality is a major cause of premature mortality and death [1]. I will report on the application of modern spectroscopic methods (such as dual -comb and cavity -enhanced spectroscopy) to environmental studies.
