Emission spectroscopy from Rydberg states in van der Waals molecules
Numerous of low – lying electronic states of diatomic molecules are unreachable from the ground state due to selection rules, low Franck-Condon factors or/and low values of transition dipole moment. A method for exploring those molecular potentials could be emission from Rydberg states. Moreover, bound – free emission could be a valuable source of information about repulsive part of the potential that is hard to obtain from the excitation spectra. I will talk about a mothod for exciting ZnAr and CdAr van der Waals molecules to Rydberg states and show simulation of multichannel emission spectra based on ab – initio calculated [1,2] interatomic potentials.
