The comparison between theoretical predictions and spectroscopic measurements reveals several intriguing discrepancies, which can not be explained within the Standard Model of fundamental interactions. I will present historical perspectives
and several examples, such as light muonic atoms, ^3He - ^4He isotope shift, and hyperfine splittings in. HD+ molecule.
